Summary
This article discusses the right selection ol a two stage reciprocating compressor for a particular cooling or freezing application.
The previous article showed the ,,why and when" of the application of a two stage reciprocating compressor, mainly determined by two criteria:
1. exceeding the limits of the working field of an one stage reciprocating compressor with a certain refrigerant;
2. the bad volumetric and isentropic efficiency at high pressure differences and ,,one stage compression", resulting in a larger swept volume and higher consumption of energy.
