De Vereniging van Nederlandse Koel- en Vrieshuizen werd in 1949 opgericht. Het exploiteren van een koel- en vrieshuis was ieders bijna enige activiteit.
Thans anno 2002 is Nekovri de belangrijkste organisatie in Nederland op het gebied van logistiek van temperatuurgevoelige producten.
Van de bedrijven in Nederland met koel- en vrieshuizen ten behoeve van dienstverlening voor derden is 95% lid van Nekovri.

Tot recent hield de organisatie zich uitsluitend bezig met collectieve belangenbehartiging van en voor de leden. Uiteraard zal dit blijven, maar via een professioneel secretariaat zal Nekovri zich meer en meer gaan bezighouden met advies aan de leden en andere geïnteresseerden, op het gebied van techniek, arbeidsvoorwaarden, wetgeving etc.

Verband Deutscher Kühlhäuser und Kühllogistik unternehmen e.V.

Der VDKL Verband Deutscher Kühlhäuser und Kühllogistikunternehmen e.V. ist ein Wirtschaftsverband für Lebensmittelunternehmen rund um die temperaturgeführte Lagerung, Distribution und Logistik von Tiefkühlkost und Frischewaren.
Zu den Mitgliedern gehören Logistikdienstleister, Industrie- und Handelsunternehmen sowie Zulieferbetriebe. Im Bereich gewerblicher Tiefkühlhäuser deckt der Verband mit seinen Mitgliedern über 80 % des gesamten deutschen Marktes ab.
Das Leistungsangebot des VDKL besteht u.a. aus einer aktiven Vertretung der Interessen seiner Mitglieder gegenüber Regierungsstellen und Behörden auf nationaler und europäischer Ebene.
Ein weiterer Service für Mitglieder ist das Energie-Management.
Der VDKL hat eine Stromeinkaufgemeinschaft (VDKL-Strompool) aufgebaut, die mit einer Abnahmemenge von fast 1 Mrd. kWh seinen Mitgliedern hochattraktive Strompreiskonditionen gewährleisten kann. Der Verband kauft hierfür Strom für seine Mitglieder unmittelbar an der Strombörse in Leipzig ein.

Die Belegung gewerblicher Kühlhäuserin Deutschland betrug im Jahr 2008 bundesweit durchschnittlich 78,3 %. Dies ist gegenüber dem Vorjahr eine Steigerungum 4,9 %.
Insbesondere bei der Produktgruppe Geflügel, Wild und Lamm (+ 1,9 %) und Backwaren (+ 1,4%) sind die Lagerbestände im Jahresdurchschnitt gestiegen.
Im Jahr 2008 wurden über 1,4 Millionen Europalettenin Kühlhäusern im Tiefkühl- und Frischebereich gelagert.

The International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) came into existence in 1891 when a number of conventional warehousemen took on the demands of storing perishable food and soon realized the increased challenge and complexity of operating temperature controlled storage facilities. IARW's goals and activities have broadened considerably over the years. Today, in addition to collecting information and encouraging the exchange of ideas, the association aggressively promotes more efficient distribution services, aids members in adopting new technology, advises members of legislation and regulations affecting the food industry, assists members in complying with U.S. and international regulations, and participates in alliances with industry and international organizations having a common interest in the safe and efficient flow of food products around the world. All active members of IARW are also members and beneficiaries of the work of The World Food Logistics Organization.

World Food Logistics Organization The World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) was founded in 1943 as The Refrigeration Research Foundation (TRRF). It is a scientific and educational foundation whose purpose is to advance the application of refrigeration technology for better preservation of food and commodities; develop and support research in the science of refrigeration; cooperate with government and private institutions in research activities; train and educate refrigerated warehouse/ distribution personnel; and establish and make available a repository of scientific information specific to this industry. WFLO is led by a Board of Governors who are advised by a Scientific Advisory Council comprised of top scientists with expertise in food science. WFLO develops many research findings from cooperating laboratories located around the world.

When choosing a public refrigerated warehouse or logistics supplier, look for the IARW and WFLO logos. For much of the 20th century, these names have stood for professionalism and stability--and they are your only assurance that food distribution personnel have up-to-date knowledge or access to the information needed to maintain high levels of food safety and food quality.

Historiek

Het BVBVK is gegroeid uit het in 1921 opgerichte “Union Professionnelle Belge des Industries du Froid”. Door de pijlsnelle groei van de logistieke activiteiten in Vlaanderen en de specifieke behoeften en noden van deze sector werd in 1935 om de beroepsvereniging verder uit te bouwen en te verzelfstandigen. Het BVBVK richt zich tot alle ondernemingen die in de logistieke sector voor rekening van derden opslag in koeling en diepvries, maar ook bijbehorende diensten aanbieden.

Logistiek- Koel- en Diepvriesnijverheid, een branche in ontwikkeling

Onze branche is de optelsom van bedrijven, die als kernactiviteit de logistieke dienstverlening voor temperatuur gevoelige producten verzorgt. Deze bedrijven zijn continu in ontwikkeling, door veranderende regelgeving, maar zeker ook door innoverend ondernemerschap. Als de bedrijven veranderen, verandert de branche dus eigenlijk automatisch mee. De branche schreef de Algemene Opslag Voorwaarden. Daarnaast werd een beperkte bereikbaarheid georganiseerd, waardoor je de gelegenheid had om te bellen en je vragen te stellen. BVBVK was dus een soort van vraagbaak. Er was sprake van eenrichtingsverkeer, van BVBVK naar de leden. Het contact tussen de leden onderling concentreerde zich rond handel. Langzaam maar zeker werd meer gebruik gemaakt van de kennis en de ervaring van de leden. Naast de bestuursleden werd actief gediscussieerd met individuele leden over de problemen van haven- en binnenland vrieshuizen in relatie tot het vroegere IVK (Instituut voor Veterinaire Keuring) tegenwoordig het FAVV (Federaal Agentschap voor de Voedselveiligheid) en de BIRB. Nationaal en internationaal toekomstgericht handelen Naast die genoemde communicatie krijgt de branchevereniging steeds meer de rol van actieve ondersteuner. Steeds luider wordt het verzoek van leden om BVBVK te laten deelnemen aan diverse landelijke en/of Europese overlegorganen. Daarnaast is er meer en meer behoefte aan actieve participatie. Wenselijk en/of noodzakelijke participatie bij ministeries, bij het FAVV, bij BIRB, bij de Douane. Door te laten zien en horen hoe positief actief wij omgaan met internationale wet- en regelgeving worden BVBVK gesprekspartner op de internationale markt.

Irish Cold Storage Federation

Welcome to the web-site of the Irish Cold Storage Federation (ICSF). The Federation represents public cold stores throughout Ireland, representing members at National, European and International level. The Federation is supported by a full time secretariat, mandated via monthly member meetings and operates through focus groups and sub-committees.

Membership of the ICSF comprises mainly of EU approved cold stores, operating to the highest standards of food hygiene and traceability. The Federation takers a proactive approach to new legislation and is represented on a range of working groups at all levels.

ICSF operates an Affiliate Membership scheme for supplier partners to the industry. This ensures close co-operation between the industry and its primary suppliers enabling the latest developments to be brought directly to the industry.

This site serves as a reference point of member companies for the wider food industry and serves to highlight current industry issues. Members and non-members are welcome to examine the issues as they relate to the Irish Cold Storage industry and are welcome at all times to offer comment on all matters.

The Irish Cold Storage Federation (ICSF) represents the interests of public cold stores in Ireland. Geographically distributed throughout Ireland, the members of the Irish Cold Storage Industry form an integral part of the Irish Food Industry, offering EU approved storage for a range of food products at ingredient and finished product level.

ICSF operates as a business sector of Food and Drink Industry Ireland (FDII), the largest business sector within the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC). ICSF is a member of the European Cold Storage and Logistics Association (ECSLA), which represents Irish Cold Storage Industry issues at European level. ICSF is affiliated to the UK Cold Storage and Distribution Federation (CSDF), facilitating member interaction with Irelands main trading partner. The ICSF participates with the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW).

Sector Profile

The Irish Cold Store Industry is an integral part of the Irish Food and Drink Industry. It provides a vital link to the processing sector in preserving product for the domestic and export market. The Irish Food Industry is predominately an export based industry with 80% of national production being exported to over 120 countries.

The Irish Cold Storage Industry is highly regulated, with a permanent presence of personnel from the Department of Agriculture being present in many stores ensuring independent verification and control of strict EU standards. The industry directly employs in excess of 700 people with a further 2,000 employed in support and downstream jobs.

The industry is changing in its basic operation, with an increasing requirement for support, documentation and customs clearance functions. Functions such as order picking and stock management is becoming a growing area for the industry and new technologies such as RFID will become an integral part of the industry in the near future.
